5-YEAR DEAL ON THE TABLE FOR RAMSEY

-

ARSENAL have offered Aaron Ramsey a new five-year contract. The midfielder, 27, has 12 months left to run on his £110,000-a-week deal. The new contract would see him get a substantial pay increase. If Ramsey doesn’t accept, he may be sold this summer to avoid losing him for nothing next year. The Gunners are close to signing free agent Stephan Lichtsteiner. The former Juventus right back, 34, will act as cover for Hector Bellerin.

UEFA will today consider what punishment to hand Liverpool following the attack on Manchester City’s team bus before the two clubs met in the Champions League quarter-final at Anfield last month. City’s coach was hit with bottles and fireworks by fans lining roads near the ground.

RYAN FREDERICKS is set to join West Ham despite winning promotion to the Premier League with Fulham. Right back Fredericks, 25, will be out of contract next month and is understood to be close to agreeing terms with the Hammers as a free agent.
