Now TSB sends letters to wrong customers

-

TSB has been sending personal letters out to the wrong people, revealing customers’ names and addresses to complete strangers.

Customers have complained about receiving multiple letters from the bank inside the same envelope, with one addressed to them and another to someone they do not know.

If these letters fall into the wrong hands it can put customers at greater risk of fraud.

It is the latest crisis to hit the bank following its IT meltdown which left thousands unable to access online accounts in April.

And over the past month dozens of customers have been targeted by fraudsters and had accounts drained of thousands of pounds. Now customers have complained the bank’s letters are ending up with the wrong recipients.

Donald Parry- Jones, 80, and his wife Valerie, 79, from Wrexham, North Wales, were among those who received letters intended for other customers this week. Mr Parry- Jones, a retired financial adviser, said: ‘TSB have had so many problems over the past month but this just really takes the biscuit. We will be switching to another bank as soon as possible.’

A TSB spokesman said only ‘a small number’ of customers were affected by the rogue letters, adding: ‘We are working with our third party supplier to understand the root cause of the error and we’d like to apologise to anyone that may be impacted.’
