West Ham in for £35m Anderson
WEST HAM have launched a £35million-plus bid to sign Lazio winger Felipe Anderson. Talks are under way with the Brazilian’s representatives, with Anderson (below) keen to play for new West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini. The 25-year-old has been considered by Manchester United and Chelsea in recent seasons and has been one of the outstanding performers in Serie A. Pellegrini wants to add a quality winger to his squad, which is likely to include 22-year-old Barcelona defender Marlon and right back Ryan Fredericks, who is out of contract at promoted Fulham. Anderson was signed from Santos for £6.75m in 2013. He scored four goals in 21 appearances in Serie A last season and three in the Europa League as Lazio reached the quarter-finals, where they were beaten by Red Bull Salzburg. West Ham have already offered £13m for Brazilian centre back Marlon, who impressed on loan at Nice last season but will require a work permit. The fee will rise based on appearances. Fredericks, 25, has attracted interest from Crystal Palace and Southampton but is expected to agree terms with West Ham next week. The London club have also spoken to Genoa about centre back Armando Izzo.
