Flop Nick still in the money

AS PRESENTER of Radio 1’s flagship ‘yoof’ breakfast show, Nick Grimshaw lost nearly two million listeners in six years.

Yet rather than sack him, the BBC are moving the failed DJ to a slot later in the day and reducing his workload from five to four days a week.

Will his eye-watering salary — up to £399,000 — be cut, I asked the BBC. ‘We don’t tend to comment on individual salaries,’ came the reply. Given that we licence-fee payers fund his outrageous wages, we have a right to know.
