Aunt Bessie bought

THE maker of Aunt Bessie’s Yorkshire puddings has been taken over for £210m. Nomad Foods has bought Aunt Bessie’s from Yorkshire-based food group William Jackson & Son, including its Hull factory.

Nomad, which is listed on the New York Stock Exchange, already owns Birds Eye and earlier this year snapped up Goodfella’s Pizza.

Aunt Bessie’s reported revenues of around ¤123m (£107m) in the year to April.

A spokesman for Nomad Foods said Aunt Bessie’s employs fewer than 400 people, all of whom will join the company after the deal.
