Sandal that’s also a bumbag
IT’S a common problem on the beach – you’re wearing swimwear but there’s nowhere to keep your spare coins for an ice cream. Now Nike has come up with the answer... footwear with a small storage bag attached.
Its £37 ‘bumbag sandal’ has a small zip bag fastened to the straps, with enough room for car keys or small change.
The poolside slides have received mixed reactions online, however. One critic, using the US term for a bumbag tweeted: ‘ Nike’s Fanny Pack slides. Just no.’ Another said: ‘Ugly and unnecessary.’
But some were more taken by their practicality. One online commenter tweeted: ‘Fanny pack sandals by Nike is genius and revolutionary.’ And another said: ‘Everything I ever wanted in a shoe.’
The sandals have already sold out online in America. There is no confirmed European release date.
