THE first of eight celebrities to trace their ancestry in the new, 15th series is former Corrie actress Michelle Keegan, who specialises in playing strong women and last night returned as glamorous Lance Corporal Georgie Lane in Our Girl. This is showing concurrently with a season of programmes marking the centenary of women’s suffrage, and Michelle (pictured) is proud to discover that her family tree boasts some fittingly exceptional and inspirational females. They include her great-great-grandmother Elizabeth Kirwan, a devotee of the suffragette leader Emmeline Pankhurst.
