Nasdaq hits record high

THE Nasdaq hit an all-time high last night as investors rallied behind major US tech companies.

Amazon was up 1.9pc, with Apple climbing 0.8pc and reaching record highs. Twitter’s shares also jumped 5pc and Netflix rose 1.1pc.

Together they helped send the Nasdaq up 31.4 points to 7637.9 – above a previous high of 7637.3.

However, investors remained wary about trade disputes between the US and neighbours Mexico and Canada, as well as China. Mexico has imposed tariffs on American products in response to US President Donald Trump’s metal tariffs.
