Musk survives coup

-

TESLA boss Elon Musk admitted recent problems have been ‘hellish’ as he saw off a shareholder coup to weaken his grip on the firm.

Shareholders rejected proposals to oust Musk, 46, as chairman and his brother Kimbal, James Murdoch and Antonio Gracias as directors. CtW Investment Group, an activist pension fund, argued the trio lacked experience.

It was joined by Norway’s £1trillion sovereign wealth fund which wanted Musk to split his roles of chairman and chief executive. The vote allows him to plough on with resolving production issues on the Model 3 sedan.
