Do you think I’m squiffy? Party night Rod wrestles with back seat of a Roller

- Daily Mail Reporter

MOMENTS earlier he had narrowly managed to avoid spilling red wine down his pristine white shirt.

But Sir Rod Stewart then made a mess of things as he clambered into his chauffeur-driven Rolls-Royce after a night out.

The 7 -year-old singer had just enjoyed a romantic dinner at Scott’s in Mayfair on Wednesday evening with his wife Penny Lancaster, 47.

Sir Rod, dressed in a white lace-trim shirt, casual suit trousers, blazer and trainers with no socks, appeared to struggle with his footing as he got into the car ahead of Miss Lancaster, who wore an exotic print dress and black ballet pumps. The couple, who have been together for 19 years, were seen chatting and playing on their phones as they enjoyed both red and white wine with their meal.

As they got up to leave their table, a glass of pinot noir was knocked over which narrowly avoided Sir Rod.

The singer and Miss Lancaster, a former model who is now a regular panellist on ITV1’s Loose Women, married in 2007. They have two sons Alastair, 12, and Aiden, seven.
