MEGHAN’S MISSING!

Engagement photo ousted from its spot in Buckingham Palace by princes in uniform

ONE week it was there, the next it was gone. A previously unseen photograph of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex appears to have lost its prominent spot in Buckingham Palace.

The touching portrait of Harry and Meghan – taken by celebrity photographer Alexi Lubomirski on their engagement last year – was seen on display in the Audience Room for the first time last week when the Queen met Australia’s high commissioner George Brandis.

But pictures taken inside the room yesterday showed it has been moved from the side table by the fireplace and replaced by a photo of Princes William and Harry in uniform.

The Queen regularly moves pictures around in the ornate room, although certain favourites – such as a wedding photograph of the Earl and Countess of Wessex – are often in view. The switch was spotted when composer Thea Musgrave was at the Palace to be presented with the Queen’s Medal for Music.
