Revolt over AA payouts
AA SHAREHOLDERS have rebuked the firm on pay.
Nearly 24pc of votes at its annual general meeting yesterday opposed its pay policy. It is believed that reflects unhappiness with criteria for bonuses, which are being negotiated.
More than 15pc voted against the remuneration report, which sets out bosses’ pay. Last year AA sacked executive chairman Bob Mackenzie, 65, after he punched a colleague. He was paid £399,000 for the period up to August 31, and no bonus. He is suing for £225m.
His successor, Simon Breakwell, 52, is being paid £700,000, £50,000 less than Mackenzie received.
