ASHER-SMITH SMASHES HER 100M RECORD
DINA ASHER-SMITH last night smashed her own British 100m record with a 10.92sec run at the Oslo Diamond League. The 22-year-old (below), who took 200m bronze at the Commonwealth Games earlier this year, slashed 0.07sec off her 2015 mark to finish second behind world indoor champion Murielle Ahoure of the Ivory Coast. It is a good form indicator ahead of the European Championships in Berlin in August. Asher-Smith said: ‘It means I’m in good shape. It is good progress and it gives my coach a good marker to see where we can go.’
