+ THERE have been calls for the PM to sack Boris Johnson after he mocked her feeble Brexit leadership in a ‘ private’ dinner with Tory donors. There’s no need to sack Bojo. He’ll be squashed anyway — after promising he’d lie down in front of the first bulldozer working on the third Heathrow runway that got the nod from the Cabinet this week.

+ ON THE subject of that dinner, it is reported that Boris’s camp is ‘disappointed’ his remarks were secretly recorded and leaked to the media. What that really means is ‘delighted’.

+ AFTER the Windrush scandal, Sajid Javid vows his will be a ‘compassionate’ Home Office. Yet with one million illegal immigrants already here and the prospect of a summer of desperate boat people on the way to Britain, what he must do is separate those with a right to be in this country from those who don’t. It’s not compassion we need, Javid, but competence.

+ IF THERESA May wanted to show she has steel not just in her decorative shoes but her backbone, she’d sack the quisling Chancellor Philip Hammond. Described by Boris and many others as the beating ‘heart of Remain’, it’s time to replace him with someone who actually believes in Britain.
