Sturgeon: I’ll back Iceland
NICOLA Sturgeon is supporting Iceland in the World Cup – after the tiny country humiliated England two years ago.
The Scottish First Minister, who has devoted her career to breaking up the UK, will back the island of 335,000 inhabitants which dumped England out of the European Championship in 2016.
But she insisted it was nothing personal, telling Channel 4 News: ‘I don’t think [Iceland’s history against England] is why I randomly drew them out of the sweepstake.
‘I wish England well. The honest answer is I’m not sure I’ll be watching every kick of the ball.’
