Caught on CCTV, machete thugs who terrorised dentist in his home
TWO armed thugs, above, skulk around a house just days before carrying out a brutal attack on the family inside.
The men, dressed in black and wearing balaclavas, were caught on CCTV walking around Dr Kailesh Solanki’s home in Bowdon, Cheshire, as they prepared to terrorise the dentist and his family, forcing them to hand over £200,000 in cash and jewellery at knifepoint.
The robbers smashed through a patio window last Thursday and threatened the 38-year-old and his wife Michelle, 30, with a machete and hammer. The thugs said they would kill the couple’s son, aged ten months, and 21-month-old daughter, who were sleeping upstairs.
It came as another shocking image, right, emerged, showing the moment a masked gunman took aim at his cowering victim in a quiet street.
Police suspect the attacker was administering a ‘punishment’ shooting. Incredibly, the 32-year-old victim survived despite being shot in the leg at almost point blank range while lying on the pavement in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, in the early hours of last Friday morning.
Horrified residents were woken by
gunshots and screaming. The nation saw another bloody weekend as fears grow at the scale of violence on our streets. In north London, officers are hunting for a gang who stabbed a 35year-old man over a suspected drugs debt near Turnpike Lane Tube station on Saturday. In another incident, police arrested a 20-year- old man after a woman in her 30s had acid thrown in her face in Brentford, west London, on Friday.
On Saturday, a 14-year- old boy appeared in court accused of robbing seven people across north London from the back of a moped.
