R4 host attacked by bus stop yobs
EDDIE Mair revealed yesterday he was attacked by thugs but delayed telling police as he felt ‘shame’.
The BBC Radio 4 presenter, pictured, said he was targeted by three youths on bicycles as he waited for a bus in London last December.
Writing in a Sunday newspaper, he said: ‘I felt a blow to my head and, in quick succession, several more. Sharp pain.’ The thugs then rode off, he said, adding: ‘I told no one, least of all the police. I felt shame.’
Mr Mair, 52, eventually told police but they couldn’t identify the thugs from video he took on his phone.
