PICKP OF THE DAY

FLOWERS, 10PM, CH4

-

PENNED by former Casualty actor Will Sharpe, the first series of this quirkily eccentric dark comedy about the dysfunctional Flowers family made quite an impact when it aired in early 2016. Once again showing on consecutive nights, series two begins with Deborah (Olivia Colman, pictured) finishing off a book she’s written about her children’s author husband, Maurice (Julian Barratt), and his depression. It seems that they and their oddball grown-up twins, Amy (Sophia Di Martino) and Donald (Daniel Rigby) — as well as their Japanese lodger, Shun (Sharpe) — are all in a better place. But not for long . . .
