Penka saved from the chop
A BULGARIAN cow due to be executed under EU rules for crossing a border into Serbia has been saved after Sir Paul McCartney led an international outcry.
Officials caved into pressure just hours after the star’s intervention and promised to return Penka to her owner. Sir Paul signed a petition to save Penka, adding: ‘She’s done nothing wrong.’
The farce unfolded when Penka’s owner tried to bring her back over the border, but was told he did not have the correct paperwork.
