EasyJet left luggage looking like THIS

- By Tom Payne

TORN and shredded, this mangled case looks as though it has been pulled from the wreckage of a plane crash – rather than the hold of an EasyJet flight that safely landed at Bristol Airport.

But that is how holidaymaker Harry Drew found his bag and belongings when they trundled around on the baggage carousel following a two-hour flight from Barcelona.

Mr Drew, a council worker from Exeter, said: ‘The bag had just come out on the carousel and it was all ripped.

‘No one brought it out and asked whose it was – it was just dumped on the belt and that was it.

‘The bloke at the baggage desk reckoned it could have been chewed up by the conveyor belt.’

When the 26-year-old looked inside he found a number of his clothes ruined, including a sentimental Exeter City FC shirt that had been given to him by an uncle who recently died. He added: ‘My uncle passed away two months ago. That’s irreplaceable.’

Mr Drew claims he has tried to contact EasyJet since he landed on May 29 but has not received a reply.

He added: ‘I was told to contact baggage advice. I’ve emailed and tweeted them and heard nothing back. It’s frustrating because they’re not giving me the time of day. I want a response. They need to do something about it.’

EasyJet and Bristol Airport did not respond to requests for comment.

Over the weekend, passengers arriving at Bristol Airport faced waits of up to three hours to collect their baggage due to flight delays caused by air traffic control strikes in France.
