France captain Patrick Vieira has been named as the new manager of Ligue 1 side Nice. Vieira left his head coach role at New York City FC to replace Lucien Favre. The 1998 World Cup winner said: ‘It was a tough decision because I spent two and a half wonderful years in New York.’ ENGLAND should make a political stand against Russia by wearing black armbands at the World Cup, says Labour MP Stephen Kinnock. ‘The World Cup is a massive propaganda coup and it should never have gone there,’ he said. ‘We are using the beautiful game to launder the reputation of an authoritarian regime.’
