Blazers beggar belief
IT IS beyond belief that the preposterous blazer brigade who make up the RFU council should have rejected a motion at the last meeting for them to pay for their partners’ tickets and lunches at Twickenham.
Then at the same meeting they agreed major cost-cutting that will see between 20 and 100 RFU staff made redundant. Those about to be shown the door at Twickenham may also be mightily aggrieved at the RFU throwing so much money and attention — an estimated £20million a year — on Eddie Jones’s mediocre England team, who have lost four Tests on the trot. l ONE wonders if Kenny Dalglish would have ever got his deserved knighthood if it wasn’t for the recent hugely powerful film Kenny that reminded the powers-that-be about the extraordinary work that he did around the Hillsborough disaster. Many reviews called for Dalglish to be knighted.
