Plain potty
WouLd the Mail consider starting a campaign to stop all garden centres using plastic plant pots?
Last week, i spent almost £100 on plants for my window troughs and planters. All were in plastic pots, which went straight into the dustbin. there are 100 per cent biodegradable fibre pots available, so why are garden centres still using plastic ones?
Banning plastic plant pots would drastically reduce plastic going into landfill or being left lying around. they must take hundreds of years to biodegrade, whereas fibre pots would break down so much quicker.
the fibre pots may cost a bit more, but i am sure the public wouldn’t mind paying a bit extra for their plants knowing the pots are made of fibre and are biodegradable. Mrs peneLope Savage,
