Slimline soprano! Katherine eight weeks after birth
TO squeeze into a figure-hugging gown less than eight weeks after giving birth, most women would need a strict diet and gruelling workouts.
Yet despite her svelte appearance, 37-yearold singer Katherine Jenkins claims to have done no exercise whatsoever since the arrival of son Xander.
Instead, she says her trim physique is all down to being a busy mother to her new baby and two-and-a-half-year-old daughter Aaliyah.
The Welsh mezzo-soprano wore a series of glamorous dresses at the Classic Brit Awards on Wednesday night.
First came a pastel pink ballgown, then an elegant form-fitting white satin number that she wore to perform a song from musical film The Greatest Showman.
Finally she changed into an equally figurehugging black strapless dress to enjoy the rest of the ceremony.
Asked how she had regained her pre-baby figure, the singer – who is married to American artist Andrew Levitas, 40 – said: ‘I’ve not done anything. It’s running around with a very active two-and-a-half-year-old. I think it’s just being an active mum.’
Looking after Xander and Aaliyah left her little time to rest, she explained. ‘I take them out walking in the pram,’ she said. ‘I’m not really one just to sit around.
‘When you’ve got a two-and-a-half year old, she is just so busy there isn’t time to sit down so you are just running around with her.’ Sharing pictures of her dresses on Instagram, Miss Jenkins thanked one of the designers for giving her confidence. Alongside a photo of the white bridal-inspired gown, she wrote: ‘Thank you Suzanne Neville for making me this one- off post-pregnancy gown that gave me the confidence to get out of my PJs and on to the stage.’ During her pregnancy, Miss Jenkins admitted she was trying to maintain her fitness levels, saying she was still doing power walks, spin classes and yoga.
