TheResA MAy is promising that the Nhs can have more money, but in exchange, there must be a clampdown on waste and bureaucrac­y.

it is an undeniable truth that there is a lot of waste within the Nhs — but it would be misleading to suggest its problems can be solved by grabbing back crutches or clamping down on the amount spent on loo roll. The fact is, vast sums are spent on middle management who have achieved what exactly?

legions of them push their pens every day, but disorganis­ation is still rife — and patients and staff suffer as a result.

so, if anyone wants suggestion­s for reform, i know where i would start.
