FAMILIAR faces — such as those of family, friends and even our favourite celebrities — generate activity in their own specific brain cells, says brain researcher Kaja Nordengen, author of the new book Your Superstar Brain.
Researchers discovered that a particular neuron (a nerve cell in the brain) reacted whenever patients saw an image of actress Jennifer Aniston (left) — whether it was a close-up in a magazine or on TV. So you likely have a ‘Jennifer Aniston’ neuron, as well as another for Poldark actor Aidan Turner, and so on!
