Bet firm fined £2m
THE gambling watchdog has slapped online firm 32Red with a £2m fine.
It follows an investigation by the Gambling Commission concerning a customer who was able to deposit £758,000 between 2014 and 2017 without being subject to social responsibility or money laundering controls. It said that there were at least 22 incidents that indicated that the customer was a problem gambler, but 32Red gave them free bonuses and failed to check that they could afford their spending.
Swedish firm Kindred, which last year snapped up 32Red in a £175.6m deal, said it accepts the penalty.
