Conran’s city diners go bust
A GRoUp of restaurants owned by designer Sir Terence Conran has fallen into administration.
The 86-year- old was forced to close the restaurants which he founded with his wife Lady Conran and restaurateur peter prescott after struggling to compete with a glut of chains on the High Street.
Conran made his name founding homeware chain Habitat in 1964. He is also the father of fashion designer Jasper Conran.
His restaurant group prescott and Conran owned parabola in Kensington, Lutyens on Fleet Street and Les Deux Salons in Covent Garden. Duff & phelps have been appointed administrators to the firm.
Administrator Stephen Clancy said: ‘The Group’s Directors made the difficult decision to exit underperforming restaurants.’
