Slipping into his slim-cut suit, it’s a lot less of Lenny

LET’s hope he doesn’t mind splashing out on lots of new clothes.

If Sir Lenny Henry keeps up his vanishing act he’ll soon need a brand-new wardrobe – and it won’t be the first time.

The 5 -year-old actor has been steadily losing weight since he embarked on a health regime in 2014 to stave off diabetes.

And his success has been dramatic as he showed in this slim-fitting suit when he was spotted outside a theatre in London this week. His dapper look included over-sized specs, a baker boy cap and patent trainers.

We started seeing less of Lenny after he decided to tackle his diabetes following years of battling his weight. Four years ago he lost three stone after cutting out sugar and alcohol. He also started doing ashtanga yoga, a fast-moving athletic version of the exercise.

At the time, he said: ‘I’m a bit diabetic, so I was put on a very strict diet.

‘It’s lots of greens, lots of juice and lots of walking. Swimming is good. You’ve got to eat no sugar and drink hardly any alcohol... all the stuff you like. You can’t Hobnob your way through the day.’

His mother Winifred also suffered from diabetes, which resulted in artery problems and a double leg amputation.

Sir Lenny turns 60 in August and the BBC will mark the occasion with a programme presented by Sir Trevor McDonald.
