Moment the Queen met movie star Sarandon
PERHAPS the Queen is a fan of her films. From her broad smile and outstretched arm, it certainly appeared as if the Monarch was delighted to meet Susan Sarandon at a polo match yesterday.
Prince Philip, on the other hand, may not have been as au fait with the Hollwood star’s back catalogue of work.
He looked baffled when the redhead marched up and introduced herself – and even appeared to lean over to his wife and ask who the visitor was.
The 71-year-old actress – whose films include Thelma and Louise – arrived at the Royal Windsor Cup polo match in a fitted white dress with a plunging neckline and bright red sandals. With little thought to her low cut frock, the five-times Oscar nominee leaned over to shake the Queen’s hand, who wore a peach dress coat with a matching hat.
Miss Sarandon, a grandmother of two and mother of three, added some Hollywood sparkle to the prestigious annual polo match – an important date on the society calendar.
