ANOTHER day and another announcement about how to tackle the child obesity crisis.

this time, the Government says it is considering measures including an outright ban on sales of energy drinks to children and clamping down on junk food adverts before the watershed. But these are children we are talking about. If they are drinking energy drinks and gorging on junk food, is there not another element to this — i.e. parental responsibility?

You can legislate all you like, but it’s what goes on behind closed doors that matters.
