Parents’ call

-

WHy are politicians putting the responsibility on schools to police the use of mobile phones in class (Mail)?

I have had to deal with irate and abusive parents when phones have been confiscated in the school where I worked. they insisted it was their child’s right to have a phone.

We should be asking parents why they feel their children need a phone. If they say it is for safety, let them have a cheap supermarket handset. then the child will use it only when needed and won’t want it on public display.

too many parents have lost control of their children. When I suggested to parents that their child’s phone should be removed as a punishment, it was met with negativity from the adults and defiance from the child.
