Stumble, duck who lives up to his name

STUMBLE may only have one leg but he’s still the scourge of the female ducks he shares his enclosure with. ‘He’s perfected the ability to jump on to a mate,’ says Di. ‘They all run but they can’t hide from him. Stumble’s leg had to be amputated after getting caught in fishing wire. He’s had a difficult summer because he’s moulted and lost his tail feather and wing tips — which help keep him stable. So he keeps falling over.’ And falling in love.
