Ewe with a stiff neck
BORN with a twisted neck, Hilda was too deformed to breed from and too skinny for slaughter so Di took the tiny ewe in. ‘We were told she’d never take to humans,’ she remembers. ‘At first she was too scared to eat out of a trough because she’d never seen them before. But within a month she was letting us touch her and gradually she got a lust for life. Now she loves to be cuddled and her tail wags madly like a big dog.’
