Hen healed in a roasting tray
BUFFY the ex-battery hen was doing perfectly well at Manor Farm when she was sat on by another bird and left with a bruised back last winter. ‘One of my biggest joys was that we got Buffy back to health with daily physio,’ says Di. ‘Although I do feel a bit guilty that we kept her in a roasting tray so she could rest her neck on the edge of it. She’s still a bit stiff and walks with a bit of a goose step but is otherwise fine. And she now loves cuddles — every time you pass her she wants you to pick her up.’
