Liverpool tie Salah down to a £10million-a-year deal
MOHAMED SALAH has ended speculation about his future after signing a new deal that is likely to earn him more than £10million per season. Liverpool have rewarded the Egypt international for his record-breaking first year back in the Premier League by ripping up his old terms, which were worth around £100,000 per week, and doubling his wages to make him one of the club’s highest paid players. Salah (right), who is currently on holiday after playing at the World Cup, attracted admiring glances from Real Madrid but negotiations with his agent, Ramy Abbas Issa, were smooth. His new contract runs to June 2023 and does not contain a release clause. ‘I am looking forward to continuing my journey here,’ said Salah. Meanwhile, Zelkjo Buvac’s career at Liverpool is almost certainly over. Jurgen Klopp’s right-hand man left abruptly in April and did not report for pre-season training yesterday. The situation remains unresolved but it is impossible to see how he returns. There are no plans to appoint a replacement.
