BORN in Norwich in 1974, Olivia Colman (pictured, right) believes her family hails entirely from Norfolk, and claims to be ‘the least adventurous person I know’. So, as the series returns, she is amazed to find herself in India to investigate the story of Harriot, h her great-great-greatgrandmother, whose English father worked for the East India Company and married a local girl. In 1811, when Harriot was orphaned, she was put on a boat bound for the shores of England from Calcutta, for a ‘better life’ with her grandparents.
