No probe into Max Mosley evidence, say police

SCOTLAND Yard has ruled out launching a criminal investigation into evidence given by ex-Formula One boss Max Mosley at a high-profile privacy trial.

It follows a four-month review of a dossier supplied by the Daily Mail, which in February revealed details of a racist pamphlet published by the tycoon.

The leaflet linked non-white immigrants with diseases such as tuberculosis, VD and leprosy.

The document, supporting a candidate for his father Sir Oswald Mosley’s political Union Movement in a 1961 by-election, was unearthed in historical archives in Manchester.

The Mail said its discovery raised questions over evidence which Mr Mosley gave under oath in a High Court trial when he successfully sued the News Of The World in 2008.

But after liaising with the Crown Prosecution Service, the Met says no further action will be taken in relation to allegations against Mr Mosley after a ‘thorough and proportionate assessment’.

Mr Mosley has insisted he did not recall the pamphlet and has also insisted he is not racist.
