Bowled over by Melania, the veterans and Mr May
THE First Lady let her hair down yesterday as she enjoyed a trip out with Theresa May’s husband Philip.
With her locks flowing, Melania Trump enthusiastically joined in a game of bowls at the Royal Hospital Chelsea and was not held back by her high heels.
Relaxed and smiling, she high-fived a Chelsea Pensioner and gave a thumbsup after a particularly good effort.
For the occasion, Mrs Trump, 48, gave a nod to British fashion by wearing a £1,550 flare dress by Victoria Beckham.
She was welcomed by Mr May to the Grade I-listed hospital – home to 300 Army veterans – after arriving in West London in a convoy of five black SUVs and at least four police outriders.
Mrs Trump, a Slovenian-born former model, and oxford graduate Mr May, 60, made an unlikely pairing but greeted each other warmly and appeared relaxed in each other’s company.
Before taking to the green, Mrs Trump was shown around the chapel and joined pupils from a local primary school as they made poppies.
She showed Mr May her effort, joking: ‘Very professional.’ The First Lady later joined her husband at Windsor Castle.
