I’m getting a divorce, Lilly Becker tells broke Boris

As he’s spotted at Wimbledon with TV star Melanie Sykes

ALTHOUGH his usual ebullient self while commentating for the BBC at Wimbledon, Boris Becker has faced a torrid time when he leaves the All England Club.

I hear the three-times Wimbledon champion has been staying at his £5million marital home nearby even though he had moved out after separating from wife Lilly two months ago, after nine years of marriage.

‘Lilly has had a hard time,’ one of her friends tells me. ‘They had been living apart, but have had to share their house in Wimbledon while Boris, 50, has been working as a pundit for the BBC.

‘It has been very awkward as they are not speaking to each other at the moment.’

Tensions are likely to worsen, as I can reveal that the 42- year- old Dutch model, who has a son, Amadeus, aged eight, with Becker is now seeking a divorce and has instructed Grosvenor Law to represent her.

‘Lilly is very worried about her financial situation and wants to make sure that she and her son are looked after,’ the friend says. Boris was thought to have a fortune of some £100 million but was declared bankrupt last summer.

He had to pay his previous wife, actress and designer Barbara Feltus, £11 million when they divorced in 2001 after an eight-year marriage. He also had to give Barbara their Florida apartment.

She won custody of their two sons, Noah, now 24, and Elias, 18.

Boris also has an 18- year- old daughter, Anna, who was conceived during a brief encounter with Russian model Angela Ermakova at a Mayfair restaurant.

Lilly told me in March that they had undertaken relationship therapy after her husband’s bankruptcy. ‘We disconnected and went our own ways,’ she said.

She added of Boris’s financial problems: ‘ It affected our lives massively. I was so ashamed about everything and I thought, “How could this happen?” ’

Meanwhile, away from his domestic woes, a happy Boris was pictured enjoying watching a match with TV presenter Melanie Sykes, 47, at Wimbledon last weekend. Sykes split up with her second husband, Jack Cockings, 31, in 2014.
