Wine chief cashing in

MAJESTIC Wine’s former buying director and his wife have cashed in on £2.5m worth of shares.

Justin apthorp, who is still on Majestic’s board, sold 400,000 shares at 460p each, while his wife Susan offloaded 150,000 at the same price.

apthorp, 58, spent 25 years at the wine retailer before stepping down in 2015. He is the son of philanthropist John apthorp, 83, who set up frozen food chain Bejam.
