Very impartial! BBC host at anti-Donald protests

-

A SENIOR BBC correspondent took part in the anti-Trump protests and posed next to a sign saying ‘Go Home’, it emerged last night.

Justin Rowlatt, a BBC presenter and its South Asia correspondent, attended the central London march with his wife and one of his children on Friday.

The well-known television personality, 52, who is based in Delhi, took part in the Women’s March part of the rally.

Last night, Tory MPs questioned the neutrality of the BBC Newsnight journalist. Andrew Bridgen said mockingly: ‘This is obviously just another example of BBC impartiality.’

During the march, Mr Rowlatt’s wife, Bee, posted a picture of her family next to a Trump impersonator and the sign ‘Go Home’. Mrs Rowlatt, a journalist, tweeted: ‘We went to the Trump demo and met this lovely guy.’ She added: ‘Just me, my family & the World’s Biggest Racist at the #TrumpProtest’.

The BBC said: ‘The BBC is impartial in its coverage of political issues. Justin Rowlatt was pictured at this rally in a private capacity. He was not involved in news coverage of President Trump’s visit to the UK.’

It came as a Greenpeace protester was arrested after flying a paraglider within yards of Mr Trump’s Turnberry golf course on the Ayrshire coast. The President and his wife Melania stayed at the resort over the weekend before flying to Helsinki for a summit with Vladimir Putin today.
