THE CEYLON SAPPHIRE BROOCH

THE 260-carat Ceylon sapphire is set in a brooch made of gold, diamonds and silver. The stone is prized for its clarity and the surface is cut into 100 hexagonal facets. It was bought at the 1862 London International Exhibition by Tsar Alexander II as a present for his wife.
