THE THREE KEY BATTLES

-

KULDEEP v JOS BUTTLER

INDIA’S left-arm wristspinner took another three wickets at Lord’s but England looked to be more aggressive and played him well. Buttler has played Kuldeep better than anyone so far and will look to get after him again today. An explosive hour from Jos could swing the match, and this decider will go a long way towards telling us whether Kuldeep will be a threat in the Tests.

EOIN MORGAN v VIRAT KOHLI

THE Indian captain is such a key figure in all formats this summer but Eoin Morgan has had the leadership edge over him so far. Morgan sprang a surprise when he elected to bat first at Lord’s, going against form in all matches so far, but he was spot on. He has been more tactically astute than Kohli in the field too.

MS DHONI v INDIA’S SUPPORTERS

INDIA’S fanatical supporters have been in the majority at all matches so far and they are likely to be a key motivating factor as the summer goes on. But they turned on one of their greats in MS Dhoni on Saturday when he inexplicably failed to try to reach a very stiff target. Can he regain their trust in Leeds?
