On-run gangster taunts police by sneaking back into UK... and posing outside their HQ

Fugitive and picture he took of police over his shoulder

WHEN a fugitive gangster taunted police with an online guide on how to flee the country, it was bad enough.

But Sam Walker has heaped further embarrassment on his pursuers by filming himself sneaking back into Britain and posing outside their headquarters as patrol cars drive past.

The 34-year-old used social media last month to chronicle his escape in a video called ‘How to get out of the UK when you’re wanted by police’.

It showed the drug dealer, who has more than 100 previous convictions, using private jets and hitching a lift on a cargo ship for his epic 5,000-mile trip to Sierra Leone, where he claimed to be doing charity work.

At the time, Cheshire Police said they were making inquiries following his failure to attend a court hearing for breaching a driving ban.

But Walker has now raised the stakes by sneaking back into Britain. After flying by helicopter into a field in northern England he was driven away in a waiting car and spent the night in a £250-a-night Hilton hotel room overlooking the head- quarters of Merseyside Police.

Filming his own exploits, the brazen crook taunted officers, bragging: ‘What would they do if they knew I was here?’

Claiming officers had kicked down the door of his flat as they hunted him, he also filmed himself in a car parked opposite Cheshire Police HQ in Winsford, laughing on camera: ‘Catch me if you can.’

Friends claimed he returned to the UK only to see his son and planned to go back to Africa. Sharing the video on Facebook, Walker detailed his exploits and accused police of making false charges against him.

‘Here’s the vid of me coming back from Sierra Leone when police said they would arrest me on way back in. Sorry fellas but you didn’t stand a chance,’ he said.

‘Keep kicking my apartment door in and I will keep uploading videos showing how s*** you really are as a police force and government.’

In his latest video, Walker showed how he dodged officials by criss-crossing Europe on his way back to Britain.

After leaving Sierra Leone at the end of June he crossed the border to neighbouring Guinea to charter a plane to Dubai where he claims to have raced supercars and partied with friends.

Walker then flew to North Africa, before filming himself taking a speedboat across the Mediterranean to Italy.

Next he flew to Barcelona, hitched a lift to Portugal on a ship and crossed to northwest Spain, where his helicopter was waiting. In his final stretch, Walker made an 11-hour flight – with a stop in France – before landing at a remote airfield unchallenged by officials.

The gangster filmed himself from his hotel room in his native Liverpool, saying: ‘Booked into the Hilton last night, opened my window and see that I’m opposite the police headquarters.’

He claimed he had been driving round in a £200,000 Lamborghini, proving he was back in the country by filming himself with a newspaper dated July 4, 2018.

He laughed as patrol cars with blue lights pulled out of the police headquarters in Cheshire.

Walker has been in and out of prison since his teenage years and police confirmed he remained at large last night. A spokesman said: ‘We are aware of the social media posts and are reviewing them.’

The Home Office said that Border Force staff met any flight ‘considered to be high risk’ and carried out regular visits to airfields around the UK to conduct checks on lower-risk traffic.
