Over-65s watch more TV than kids

-

OVER-65s watch four times as much broadcast television as children, Ofcom has found.

A report released today reveals that people across Britain are watching nine minutes less television as it airs live than last year, with an average of three hours and 22 minutes in front of the box each day.

In 2010, children spent half as much time as over-65s watching broadcast TV. By 2017, the older age group were watching just a minute less of television – while children’s viewing had slumped by an hour.

It comes as younger viewers consume more digital content – flocking to online streaming services instead.
