Battle of the sunbeds

On HOLIDAY in Majorca, my partner and I emerged every day at 8.30am to find that arrogant German guests had laid claim to dozens of poolside sunbeds with their towels.

It struck me that this practice seen at resort hotels across Europe is a perfect analogy for the EU. Each sunbed represents an EU member and the towels imperiously thrown over them signify German control over these countries.

British guests who shrug their shoulders to keep the peace reflect the mentality of remainers, while those who object characterise the refusal of Leavers to be dictated to.
