STREWTH! FAILED AUSSIE STORE THAT TOOK OVER HOMEBASE REOPENS... AS HOMEBASE

-

FOLLOWING one of the most disastrous takeovers of recent years, the Aussie DIY store that took over Homebase is about to disappear.

This week, the first Homebase store to be turned in to a Bunnings – in St Albans, Hertfordshire – became a Homebase again.

Bunnings branded goods were auctioned for as little as 50p as new owner Hilco Capital tried to clear the shelves of unwanted stock. Bunnings’ owner Wesfarmers failed to crack the British homeimprovement market this year, and sold Homebase for £1 – having bought it for £340m two years ago.
