Hot and bothered

WILL someone please tell weather forecasters that there are many towns and cities between Birmingham and Glasgow.

This week, the forecast was for the South to bask in high temperatures and sunshine while Scotland and Northern Ireland would have rain.

No mention at all of the north-west of England (we had heavy showers throughout the day).

MARIAN BECK, Allithwaite, Cumbria. THE pundits are likening the heatwave to that of 1976. please do not appoint another minister of drought. When this was done, it seemed to rain for the next three summers.
