Fight for your rights
I AM disabled and my benefits were cut after being wrongly assessed by an Atos interviewer with no medical qualifications (Letters).
I have multiple sclerosis, arthritis in my spine and have had an operation for a cancer in my thigh, all of which affect my mobility.
But the assessor decided I was not severely disabled and reduced my benefit. I appealed and it was raised slightly.
On advice from my GP, I went to tribunal with support from Citizens Advice. The judge took just five minutes to reinstate the higher rate. I would urge other people whose benefit has been slashed to fight your case.
